LUCY LETBY (4 January 1990 - )

Lucy Letby (4 January 1990). A former neonatal nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Letby was convicted of murdering 7 babies and the attempted murder of another 15. She came under investigation due to an abnormal number of infant deaths and collapses at the Cheshire hospital.

The English nurse was convicted on the basis of her presence at the majority of the collapses and was found to have used insulin and air embolisms to harm the children in her care.  In August 2023, she was found guilty on seven counts each of murder and attempted murder, acquitted on two counts of attempted murder, and the jury was unable to reach verdicts on six further counts. She received a total of 15 life sentences for her crimes, and is currently serving them at HMP Low Newton, a high-security women's prison in County Durham.
